Rental Report - Quarterly: Moving Annual Rents by Suburb

This section of the Rental Report provides a summary of the affordability of\r\nrental housing for lower income households in Victoria. The method used in\r\nthis section measures the supply of affordable new lettings based on the\r\nResidential Tenancies Bond Authority data used in this Report. The\r\naffordability benchmark used is that no more than 30 per cent of gross income\r\nis spent on rent. Lower income households are defined as those receiving\r\nCentrelink incomes.\r\n\r\nThe Rental Report provides key statistics on the private rental market in\r\nVictoria. The major source for the statistics presented in the Rental Report\r\nis the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority which collects data on all rental\r\nbonds lodged under the Residential Tenancies Act 1997.\r\n\r\n
