Our study aimed to analyze 51 isolates from samples of patients with bacteremia from two hospitals in the Metropolitan Health Service, Santiago, Chile, collected in 2018. We analyzed its antibiotic resistance profile and identified some virulence factors using standard molecular procedures. Furthermore, given the lack of bioinformatics tools applied in the country for S. aureus profiling, we started a genomic characterization of some selected isolates by WGS.
