Urban Waterway Clean Up - Redwater Creek - Railton

The Redwater Creek is a significantly degraded waterway within the Railton township. This project aims to restore water flow and hydrology to reduce the impact of future flooding events and erosion. Feral plant and woody debris removal (willows/non natives/flood blockages), native planting, bank reconstruction and weed eradication measures are the major focus for this Green Army project. The Green Army Team will methodically work along this waterway removing blockages, debris, weeds and litter to be disposed in an environmentally accepted manner via landfill or recycling. The infestation of willow tree will be eradicated via the accepted 'Cut and Paste' method with timber residue removed from the water way and converted into woodchip for mulching.
