Soil Properties of Northeastern Nigerian States

Thirty-six soil samples within four northeastern Nigerian farms were collected in the data between 2014 and 2016. The data featured a soil textual informatio from Adamawa, Borno, Gombe and Yobe and a quantification of their moisture content, bulk density, pH, and penetration resistance. The data is structured into an excel file and labelled with sample codes to designate the region where they were collected. The data also includes global coordinates of the uncultured farms samples. The data reveals the negative impact of sahara encroachment are relatively more severe in Yobe than Adamawa, Borno or Gombe necessitate an urgent agricultural strategy to preserve the livelihood of the indegenious people.
