Fire return interval and large fire year dataset for boreal forest landscapes, Northern Europe

The dataset contains site-level fire history data for the analysis of fire occurrence at sites during large fire years (LFYs) across multiple study areas, all located in the European portion of the boreal domain. Each row is uniquely identified by the combination of area, site, and LFY. Each row reports the raw and landscape-adjusted fire return interval (in years), a binary burned/unburned outcome for that year, and the proportion of sites burned within the corresponding fire year across a given study area. Data cover the period from 1400 to 1900 AD.
