资源简介:
This is the genome sequence on a highly inbred insect population of Bactericera cockerelli. We received 200x coverage from PacBio. Bactericera cockerelli (Hemiptera: Triozidae), the potato psyllid, is a pest of Solanacea crops in the USA. This insect native to southern USA and Mexico is a threat to all solanaceous crops (potato, tomato, tobacco, eggplant,… .) because it transmits the Gram negative bacterium “Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum” (Lso), which in potato causes the disease named zebra chip. The objective of this project is to sequence the genome using the PacBio technology. The psyllid genome is 450 Mbase, This genome will represent an invaluable resource for studying the biology of the potato psyllid and the interaction with the pathogen. This research will greatly facilitate molecular and genetic research on potato psyllids by making the genome sequence available to the community.
