Identification of Germline and Somatic Mutations in Hepatocellular Carcinoma in a Tunisian Cohort

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most prevalent and lethal malignancies worldwide, with a particularly high burden in regions with endemic viral hepatitis. This project aims to identify and characterize germline and somatic genetic mutations associated with hepatocellular carcinoma in a Tunisian cohort using next-generation sequencing technologies. By analyzing tumor and matched non-tumor samples, this study seeks to improve the understanding of genetic determinants involved in HCC development, progression, and patient susceptibility, and to provide population-specific molecular insights that may contribute to improved risk stratification, personalized therapeutic strategies, and the identification of potential biomarkers relevant to hepatocellular carcinoma in North African populations.
