Heritable systemic fungal endophyte Epichloë has a profound impact on its plant host's physiology and ecology and thus can be considered a keystone species and can be expected to modulate the microbial communities that co-inhabit the same plant host. To test this, bacterial and fungal endophytic communities were analyzed by amplicon sequencing.
