World Ocean Circulation Experiment Global Data V3.0 Drifters

The World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) was a part of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) which used resources from nearly 30 countries to make unprecedented in-situ and satellite observations of the global ocean between 1990 and 1998 and to observe poorly-understood but important physical processes.
This collection contains data from WOCE surface drifters deployed during the period 1990 to 2000. In addition, data collected from 1979 to 1989 have also been included. These have all undergone the same processing as the data from the WOCE period. They have been included to help place the data collected during WOCE in a larger time context.
