To research ploidy and parent-of-origin effecting on gene expression and small RNAs in the rice endosperm. We sequenced and analyzed transcriptome and small RNAome, and proved that it is essential to maintain a 2:1 (maternal-to-paternal) genome ratio in the endosperm for the normal seed development in rice.
