Rationale: Locating embedded supernumerary teeth quickly and accurately during minimally invasive extraction is a clinical challenge that must be overcome. This case describes the removal of resistance and minimally invasive extraction of an impacted supernumerary tooth using a digital osteotomy guide plate. The accuracy of the guide plate was evaluated after the procedure.Patient concerns: A 12-year-old boy who visited our office for a dental examination had an embedded supernumerary tooth in the anterior region.Diagnosis: Maxillary impacted supernumerary teeth.Interventions: The embedded supernumerary tooth was accurately located and extracted under digital guidance.Outcomes: Using a guide plate improves the accuracy and speed of positioning of the supernumerary teeth, resulting in reduced operation time. The postoperative analysis indicated that the guide plate had an extremely high degree of accuracy.Lessons: Digital tools are essential for the preoperative design of supernumerary teeth with complete bony embeddings to improve surgical accuracy, reduce the sensitivity associated with extraction techniques, and perform minimally invasive procedures.
