Week 3 - Lab 2 Field training with plants (Grassland dataset 2)

On Tuesday September 22, 2015, data was collected from 50 individuals of the Goldenrod plant genus at the grasslands of York University found north of Pond Road. Transect tape was placed randomly in an area where Goldenrod abundance was noticeable. The distance of the encounter with each replicate was recorded in metres using the transect tape. A new location within the woodlot was randomly selected after 10 metres of sampling. The replicates height was measured in metres using the transect tape. The replicates also had their number of living leaves and number of flower bundles counted. The living leaves included all leaves that retained their green colour by over 50% of the leaf's surface area. One flower bundle consisted of all the flowers branching off of one branch and coming in contact with eachother. A crowd level measure (0=low crowding, 1=medium crowding, 2=high crowding) was used to specify the distribution of plants and the amount of separation between replicates.
