Beaufort Beluga Mercury Bioaccumulation Model Parameters and Outputs

This project synthesizes existing data and knowledge (from long-term community based environmental and biomonitoring programs in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region, western scientific literature, and previously documented Inuit Knowledge) to develop a mercury bioaccumulation model for the Beaufort beluga food web. This model builds on an existing ecosystem model of the food web in the Ecopath with Ecosim platform, using the Ecotracer component. Once fully parameterized and evaluated, this model will be used to better understand drivers of historical mercury trends in beluga, and potentially, to explore future scenarios.
