Highway Safety Improvement Program National Scan Tour

The FHWA Office of Safety sponsored a National Scan Tour to learn more about States’ HSIP administration, planning, implementation and evaluation practices. The HSIP National Scan Tour is a great opportunity to learn and share HSIP noteworthy practices, support peer to peer learning across DOTs, assist States with continuous process and program improvement, and ultimately strengthen effective use of HSIP funding to reduce fatalities and serious injuries. A Scan Team made up of FHWA, consultants, and three peer States conducted a Scan Tour of six States: California, Florida, Georgia, Montana, Ohio, and Rhode Island. States were selected based on a combination of safety performance, geographic representation, and variety of program characteristics.
