High-Resolution Climate Scenario Maps for Europe under SSP2-4.5: Near-, Medium- and Long-Term Projections
收藏资源简介:
This dataset presents a collection of 48 seasonal climate projection maps for Europe developed within the Horizon Europe project STECCI – Stone Monument Ensembles and the Climate Change Impact (Grant Agreement No. 101094822). The maps represent projected climatic conditions under the SSP2-4.5 scenario for three future periods: the near term (2021–2040), medium term (2041–2060), and long term (2081–2100). The dataset includes four climatic parameters: Average air temperature (°C): 12 maps Average maximum air temperature (°C): 12 maps Average minimum air temperature (°C): 12 maps Average seasonal precipitation (mm): 12 maps Each parameter is represented for spring, summer, autumn, and winter across the three projection periods, providing a total of 48 maps. The maps form part of the STECCI Interactive Digital Climate Atlas, developed under Work Package 2 (WP2). The Atlas employs a high-resolution spatial framework of 600 × 600 m, representing a substantial improvement in spatial detail compared with the 10 × 10 km resolution originally envisaged in the project's Grant Agreement. The cartographic outputs provide a spatial overview of projected seasonal temperature and precipitation patterns across Europe, supporting the identification of regional climatic differences and potential environmental pressures affecting cultural heritage. In particular, the dataset contributes to assessing future climatic exposure of stećci medieval limestone tombstones and other European limestone monuments. It supports climate-informed heritage conservation, vulnerability assessments, and the development of the STECCI Preservation Guidelines.
