Quantifying the impact of galaxy-scale jets from the LOFAR Two-Metre Sky Survey

Our previous Xray observations have provided some of the most direct evidenceso far for the galaxyscale feedback role of AGN jets. However, until recentlyonly a small number of galaxyscale jets were known. With the new LOFAR TwoMetre Sky Survey Data Release 1, we have been able for the first time to build arepresentative sample of galaxyscale jets. Here we propose XMMNewtonobservations of four galaxyscale jets from this sample, two of which havespiral host galaxies, and all of which are predicted to be stronglyoverpressured with respect to their environments. We aim to detect shockheatedgas and directly measure the cumulative energy deposition of these jets intotheir galaxy ISM, and therefore obtain the first populationwide view of galaxyscale jet feedback. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
