The Halifax Northwest Trails Association has been collecting water quality data from Belchers Marsh since 2006, with the goal of establishing a water quality baseline and comparing data over the long-term. YSI probes are used complete chemical sampling, with the implementation of field test strips to measure nitrate/nitrite and phosphorous in 2019.
