Opinion on Cleveland Indians changing their name in the U.S. 2021, by generation

Ahead of the 2022 Major League Baseball (MLB) season, the Cleveland Indians announced that the team would henceforth be known as the Cleveland Guardians. This move came as a result of increasing pressure from fans and sponsor to replace the original Native American-based name. During a July 2021 survey in the United States, 47 percent of Millennial respondents approved of the franchise's decision to change its name following the current season, while this figure fell to 30 percent among Baby Boomers.
