VPRS 12006 Transcripts of Interviews

This series consists of paper and micro cassette copies of the transcripts of interviews conducted by the Commission of Inquiry into the Nillumbik Shire Council. These interviews were conducted in by the Commissioner, Mr David Abraham, under Section 215 of the Local Government Act 1989. More than 60 interviews were conducted in this manner.Interviews were essentially held with the following:the Chief Executive Officer of the Shire CouncilCouncillors and former-CouncillorsShire Council staff and former staff, andthird parties. (These people were not council employees. However they were interviewed by the Commissioner as they were directly or indirectly involved in the operations of the Council.)These interviews represented one of the four main sources of evidence received by the Commission, the other three being the receipt of submissions, copies of documents received from the Council and public hearings. All of the interviews, with the exception of three additional interviews with the CEO and two councillors on 23 June 1998 were conducted prior to the public hearings.
