Salvelinus alpinus (Arctic char) genome, fSalAlp3, sequence data

The Arctic char or Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus) is a cold-water fish in the family Salmonidae, native to alpine lakes, as well as Arctic and subarctic coastal waters in the Holarctic (from Wikipedia entry). This sample of a female individual found in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, was procured by Ian Bradbury and Steven Duffy to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco. Manual curation was done by Genoscope in France.
