RNA sequencing of seeds from Mthsfa9 Tnt1 insertion mutants

HSFA9 (Medtr4g126070) is a seed-specific heat shock transcription factor that is upregulated during the later stages of seed maturation. To identify genes that are regulated by this transcription factor in the model legume Medicago truncatula, Tnt1 insertion mutants were identified and RNA sequencing was performed on mature seeds from two hsfa9 mutants and the wild type seeds. Three replicates of 50 seeds harvested from different plants were sequenced for two Tnt1 insertion mutants, NF10440 (hsfa9-1) and NF13157 (Mthsfa9-2) in the R108 background and the wildtype R108.
