Here, we assembled the first de novo genome of the species using Nanopore long reads, of which assessment revealed that the assembled Trachypithecus cristatus genome had high integrity and contiguity. The genome size was 2.91 Gb with 264 contigs and a contig N50 of 55.90 Mb. The genome was predicted to contain 20,249 protein coding genes, of which 82.34% were functionally annotated. The high quality reference genome of Trachypithecus cristatus fills in the vacancy in Trachypithecus cristatus group genome and provides a vital resource for studying genome evolution, environmental adaptation and conservation.
