Shiny app for interactive photo library of known-age Osprey nestlings (Massachusetts, USA, 2019-2022)

--- OVERVIEW ---This repository contains code and data to produce the interactive Shiny app for viewing photos of known-age Osprey nestlings, associated with the publication:Katelyn M. Depot, Alan F. Poole, and Gina Purtell. 2026. A photographic guide to plumage-based estimation of nestling age in Osprey. Journal of Raptor Research, 60(2).Detailed photo sampling and nestling aging methodology can be found in the associated publication. The online app can be found at the following link at the time of publication: https://kdepot.shinyapps.io/ospreychicks/--- FILES ---app.R - Run this script in an RStudio environment to produce a local version of the app. Note that the directory structure must be unchanged.Images are located in the chick_photos folder within the www folder. Image file names are formatted PlatformIdentifier_YYYY-MM-DD.photo_data.csv - Data associated with images, containing the following attributes: 'Name' - File name of the image. 'A_min_age' to 'D_max_age' - Minimum and maximum possible ages in days of the first (A), second (B), third (C), and fourth (D) hatched nestlings. 'Comment' - Comments concerning missing nestlings.Note that occasionally nestlings in the table are missing from photos. This occurs when photos did not include all nestlings or when nestlings that were formerly in the nest perished. Unless noted otherwise, it is unknown which nestlings are missing.
