The project involves studying the influence of soil-management and plant growth stages on root microbiome. Maize root-associated bacterial, fungal and oomycetal communities during vegetative (V6) and reproductive (R2) growth phases of four maize inbred lines (B73, PH207, DK105 and F2) and a phosphate transporter mutant (pht1;6) were characterized. These plants were grown in two long-term experimental fields (DEMO and DOK) under four contrasting soil managements (NPK and NK for field DEMO and BIODYN and CONMIN for field DOK). Additionally, bulk soil was also collected for microbiota analysis.
