Escherichia phage KIT03 was isolated from soil in chicken farm in Kyoto, Japan. The host for isolating and amplifying is Escherichia coli NBRC3972. Phage KIT03 can lyze some strains of Salmonella and E. coli including E. coli O157:H7 (ATCC43888). Whole genome sequence of KIT03 was performed by Illumina Hiseq 2500 in Hokkaido System Science Co., Ltd. The reads were assembled by Velvet v1.2.10. The ORFs was predicted by RAST v2.0 and GenemarkS v4.28 and the function was searched by BLASTp. The genome of the phage KIT03 does not contain any toxic gene nor intergase.
