Diffusione e conservazione del patrimonio musicale per la Settimana Santa nel Salento leccese: il ruolo delle bande musicali

Holy Week represents a moment in which liturgy is intertwined with traditional ritual practices, and in which the theatricality of the sacred and the evocative power of music play a central role. In Salento, as in other regions of Southern Italy, a distinctive musical heritage has been preserved and disseminated, thanks in part to the contribution of marching bands. The author examines, through selected examples, the dynamics of dissemination of this heritage and the processes of inculturation that reveal significant connections with other regions of Southern Italy.
