Paedocypris sp. Pulau Singkep isolate:IMCB_SINMMF_001 Genome sequencing

Minifish (Paedocypris sp. Pulau 'Singkep'), which attains maturity at thesize of 8 mm, is one of the smallest vertebrates and has a relatively small genome size (420 Mb). As such, it is a novel model genomefor understanding the genetic basis of miniaturization and evolution of chromosomes and genome size. Since minifish inhabits highly acidic (pH 3-4) black-water peat swamps, it is also a good model to uncover molecular mechanisms of adaptation to such a harsh environment. This is the assembly of the male minifish genome.
