This dataset contains the primary experimental and processed data supporting the study of polylactic acid (PLA) and multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) nanocomposites under simulated physiological hydrolytic conditions. The collection includes FTIR spectra used to confirm composite formation and monitor chemical changes during degradation, mass-loss measurements recorded during incubation in phosphate-buffered saline at pH 7.4 and 37 °C, SEM micrographs documenting surface morphology before and after hydrolytic exposure, and TGA/DSC data used to evaluate thermal stability and activation energy. The data were generated from PLA–MWCNT formulations containing 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, and 5.0 wt% MWCNT and are associated with the article “The role of multi-walled carbon nanotubes in enhancing the hydrolysis and thermal stability of PLA” published in Nature-Scientific Reports. The dataset is intended to support reuse, comparison, and further analysis in biomaterials, polymer degradation, and nanocomposite research.
