Impact of a high-fat meal on the gut microbiota in zebrafish larvae

To test the impact of a high-fat meal on zebrafish gut bacterial communities, we performed 16S rRNA gene sequencing on dissected digestive tracts from zebrafish that were either fed a high-fat meal for 6 hours or unfed. Similar analyses were performed on housing water samples collected from the same flasks to permit comparisons between gut and water bacterial communities and the impact of a high-fat meal in both locations.
