The 3BC dataset was developed by institutions including Kyushu University as a benchmark for multi-objective optimization. Designed based on Basin Connectivity, this dataset enables users to fully specify both the quantity and positions of local Pareto fronts. The dataset covers optimization problems generated via topological analysis, and is particularly suitable for visualization and optimization in high-dimensional design spaces. During its development, Basin Graph was utilized to simulate multimodal landscapes, ensuring the accuracy of the optimization problems and the existence of the required local and global Pareto optimal solutions. This dataset is primarily used to evaluate and improve multi-objective optimization solvers, especially when handling complex multimodal problems.
