Analysis of robustness and false discovery rate of the serial dilution tests for microbial contamination in oil pipes. hydrocarbon metagenome

I order to explore how accurately and robustly the four common serial dilution tests: aerobic acid producing, anaerobic acid producing, general anaerobic, and sulfate reducing, represent the composition and selected functional activity of the microbial (bacterial in this case) populations in samples collected from the oil pipes significantly affected by microbial induced corrosion we used high throughput sequencing technology to evaluate bacterial composition of 16 samples collected from different locations/positions in oil pipes in the Southwestern United States, as well as bacterial composition of the bacteria growing in the serial dilution media.
