Sulphide oxidising bacteria (SOB) are known to spatially separate sulphide removal and current production, thereby acting as sulphide shuttles. The effect of anode potential, sulphide load and biomass concentration on discharge by sulphide shuttling SOB was investigated. SOB communities dominated by <em>Thioalkalivibrio sulfidophilus</em> were incubated with sulphide in batch experiments to produce sulphidic conditions. After sulphide had (partly) been removed the sulphidic SOB were exposed to potentials and current was measured. Discharge of sulphidic SOB were compared to discharge of aerated SOB and electrochemical oxidation of abiotic sulphide. The full methodology can be found in the related publication.
硫化物氧化细菌(Sulphide oxidising bacteria,SOB)已知可在空间上分离硫化物去除与电流生成过程,进而充当硫化物穿梭载体。本研究探究了阳极电位、硫化物负荷以及生物质浓度对以硫化物为穿梭载体的SOB放电性能的影响。以嗜硫碱杆菌(*Thioalkalivibrio sulfidophilus*)为优势菌群的SOB群落,通过批量实验与硫化物共培养以构建硫化环境。待硫化物(部分)被去除后,将该硫化环境下培养的SOB施加不同电位,并测量其输出电流。将该硫化环境SOB的放电性能与曝气培养SOB的放电性能以及非生物硫化物的电化学氧化过程进行了对比。完整实验方法可参见相关研究文献。
