Preliminary butterfly list for Stroud, Australia

This is a list of 38 easily identified butterflies observed in Stroud, New South Wales, Australia during the last three decades. With more focused work the total number of species is likely to exceed 50. There are species in the families Hesperiidae, Lycaenidae, Pieridae, and Nymphalidae which may occur in Stroud but which have not been included in this list because no voucher specimens are available for detailed study. This dataset includes some plants that gardeners and other naturalists might consider monitoring for the presence of particular butterfly species.
