Dataset on Prohibited Grounds and Areas of Discrimination in Korean Legislation

This dataset compiles and systematizes provisions in Korean legislation that explicitly delineate the grounds and areas in which discrimination is prohibited. To assemble the dataset, a comprehensive search was conducted in the Korea Law Information Center (www.law.go.kr) using the keyword “차별” (discrimination), which initially yielded 501 provisions. From this corpus, 151 provisions that clearly specify prohibited grounds and areas of discrimination were identified. Data collection was conducted as of April 28, 2025, which serves as the reference date for this dataset. This dataset is designed to serve as a foundational resource for research on equality law in Korea and as a comparative reference point for the study of international anti-discrimination norms. 이 데이터셋은 한국의 차별금지 법령에 명시된 사유 및 영역을 조사하여 체계적으로 정리한 것이다. 데이터셋을 구축하기 위해 한국 국가법령정보센터(www.law.go.kr)에서 “차별”이라는 키워드가 포함된 총 501개의 조문을 1차적으로 검색하였고, 이 중 차별금지사유 및 영역을 명시한 규정 151개를 최종적으로 선별하였다. 데이터 수집 작업은 2025년 4월 28일을 기준으로 이루어졌다. 이 데이터셋은 한국의 평등법제 연구와 국제 차별금지 규범 비교연구에 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있다.
