Marine Program Annual Report 1973

This report on the progress of the University of New Hampshire Marine Program describes a much larger effort than that which is funded by the University of New Hampshire Coherent Area Sea Grant Program. The sources of funds for each project described herein are designated at the end of the project or program description. The last page of this report gives a summary of the UNH Coherent Area Marine Program expenditures by category. These expenditures are a summation of the designated Coherent Area Program efforts. The philosophy and purpose of the National Sea Grant Program are to stimulate an overall University Marine Program that is of greater scope than just those projects and programs receiving direct Sea Grant support. For this reason it was thought fitting to report on the entire UNH Marine Program rather than to restrict the report to the part supported by the UNH Sea Grant Coherent Area Budget. We believe that this report gives evidence of the success of the Sea Grant Program at the University of New Hampshire in helping to achieve the Sea Grant goal. We hope that you will enjoy reading about our efforts and accomplishments.
