The goal of the DFG (German Research Council) project ´The macrostructural framework of the partner market in a longitudinal perspective´ is to generate the most accurate possible description of partner market conditions and their evolution over the past decades. Partner market indicators that are appropriate to the theoretical framework are applied to the German population after 1985; these indicators will facilitate longitudinal analyses to determine the influence of regional partner markets on partner choice and related aspects, such as partnership stability or birth rate trends. The indicators can be linked to existing sociological datasets at the district level (´Landkreise´ and ´Stadtkreise´). The partner market indicators determined are sorted by district code number, calendar year, age (age groups 18 to 74) and sex. The indicators can be linked to existing individual social science data sets at the district level.
Regional partner market indicators: age-specific sex ratio; availability ratio without availability weighting; education-differentiated availability ratio without availability weighting for persons without or with Abitur; availability ratio with availability weighting; education-differentiated availability ratio with availability weighting for persons without or with Abitur; spatial partner market density without availability weighting; education-differentiated spatial partner market density without availability weighting for persons without or with Abitur; spatial partner market density with availability weighting; educational differentiated spatial partner market density with availability weighting for persons without Abitur or with Abitur; social partner market density without availability weighting; educational differentiated social partner market density without availability weighting for persons without Abitur or with Abitur; social partner market density with availability weighting; educational differentiated social partner market density with availability weighting for persons without Abitur or with Abitur.
