The genome of the ectomyccorhizal fungus Astraeus odoratus was sequenced and assembled. To our knowledge, this represents the first reference genome for mushroom-forming fungi in Diplocystidiaceae (Boletales, Agaricomycetes, Basidiomycota). The genome will be utilized for phylogenomics and comparative genomics to determine genes involved in Indole-3-acetic acid biosynthesis.
