Mexico A10 absolute gravity survey, October-November 2018

A joint National Geodetic Survey (NGS) and Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI) project to measure 19 absolute gravity sites throughout Mexico was performed from October through November 2018. NGS provided one Micro-G LaCoste A10 absolute gravimeter and an experienced operator for the mission and INEGI provided one Scintrex CG5 relative gravimeter, an experienced CG5 operator, ground transportation, driver, and project manager in addition to handling all field logistics, site access, and coordination throughout the campaign. The NGS based crew member departed Boulder, Colorado, on Oct 15th, met with the team from INEGI in El Paso Texas on Oct 17th, and crossed the international border into Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, to begin the joint campaign which concluded at Ciudad Juarez on Nov 18th. All sites visited were either previously existing gravity stations or new sites chosen by INEGI staff. During the campaign, a presentation of the equipment and procedure was performed for the INEGI staff at the headquarters in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
