资源简介:

This dataset provides a regional geospatial extract of the Portuguese Land Use and Land Cover Map COS2018v2.0, originally produced by the Portuguese Directorate-General for Territory (Direção-Geral do Território — DGT). The dataset covers the study area of 86 municipalities in northern Portugal and was prepared to support scientific research on landscape fuel configuration and wildfire burned area during 2019–2025. The archived GeoPackage contains 63,059 polygon features representing potentially combustible land-cover classes (classes 3–6), including pastures, agroforestry areas, forests and shrublands. The geographic data use the ETRS89 / PT-TM06 coordinate reference system (EPSG:3763). Geometric quality-control procedures identified 55 polygon geometries requiring repair. The feature-level repair records and corresponding validation summary are preserved in the research documentation. Research application The dataset supports the reconstruction of two landscape fuel-configuration indicators: C01 — Largest Combustible Patch Fraction. C04 — Conditional Combustible Adjacency. These indicators were analysed in a seven-year municipal panel to assess whether landscape fuel configuration improves the explanation and geographical prediction of annual wildfire burned area beyond overall combustible-cover abundance. Data provenance and attribution Original cartographic data: Direção-Geral do Território (DGT), Portugal. Source product: COS2018v2.0 — Carta de Uso e Ocupação do Solo. Regional extraction, geospatial processing and research data curation: Luís Macedo, Municipality of Arcos de Valdevez, Portugal. The original DGT cartographic data remain attributable to their institutional provider. Limitations This dataset is a regional research extract, not the complete national COS2018v2 dataset. The original automated source-acquisition provenance manifest was not recovered. This limitation is documented in the associated scientific manuscript and supplementary methodological audit. The archive is provided to support scientific reproducibility, geographical analysis and further research into wildfire dynamics and landscape fuel configuration.
