Local Highway District

Local Highway District is a polygon feature class that delineates the boundaries of Idaho’s local highway jurisdictions for internal agency use. The local highway jurisdictions are responsible for maintaining and managing local roadways. The dataset provides a spatial framework for understanding local transportation jurisdictions and is used in planning, funding allocation, and coordination between state and local agencies. This feature class may not match the feature class and web service provided by the Idaho State tax Commission. Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) maintains and manages this feature class based on agreements between Local Highway Districts for maintenance responsibility and reporting as per the Local Road Inventory Program.
