A record of Corporation transactions in a form designed to facilitate the entering-up or "posting" of the ledger accounts. Shows for each entry, the date of the transaction, the two accounts affected, and which is to be debited, which credited. The ledger folio number of each such account is appended for easy reference from this to the other principal book of account. The Journal page is divided into columns containing from left to right across the page - date, explanation, ledger-folio reference, amount (analytical, ie. detailing sundry items); and amount (total).
