Transcriptomics of mycobacteriophage D29 infection

Mycobacteriophage D29 infects and lyses mycobacteria. The infection process is expected to result in the expression of phage genes in a time-dependent manner. During infection, the host gene expression pattern is also likely to change. We have monitored these changes using the wild-type phage D29 and a temperature-sensitive mutant of the phage named D29Ts12. By performing this study, we intend to understand a) how the phage gene expression is regulated and b) how the host responds to the phage attack. This sequence data gives information about the complete transcriptome of Mycobacterium smegmatis infected by either D29 (Wild type) or D29ts12 at the permissible temperature of 37 degrees C and nonpermissive temp of 42 degrees C
