The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Wadi sheep (Ovis aries) and its phylogenetic analysis

Wadi sheep (Ovis aries) is a high-prolificacy native breed from the Shandong Province of China. It is famous for their number of teats, which ranges from two to six, including two normal teats and up to four supernumerary teats. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Wadi sheep was investigated. The genome can be further used for investigating the evolutionary mechanism of teats number in sheep.
