Transcriptome analysis of Dinanath grass (cenchrus pedicellatum) for drought tolerance

Dinanath (cenchrus pedicellatum Trin.) is an extensively grown forage grass known for its significant drought resilience. In order to comprehensively grasp the adaptive mechanism of Dinanath grass (Bundel Dinanath grass 2 cultivar) in response to water deficient conditions, transcriptomic sequencing of Dinanath leaves and roots exposed to two distinct drought intensities (48-hour and 96-hour) and control plants which are irrigated and maintained in field capacity were done. The denovo transcriptome analysis resulted in identification of molecular mechanism and genes which are underlying in drought tolerance in Dinanath grass. This data will be useful for molecular studies of grasses.
