This dataset contains the sequencing data of a manuscript entitled "gamma delta (gd) T cells integrated in full thickness skin equivalents: a model for the role of human skin-resident gd T cells". Specifically, HaCaT epidermal equivalents and dermal equivalents were sequenced and the gene expression profiles compared to both models with and without integrated gd T cells. The dataset further contains transcriptome sequencing data of skin cancer equivalents generated with the skin squamos cell carcinoma cell line SCC13 in presence and absence of gd T cells. This study demonstrates the successful establishment of human gd T cells-competent skin and skin carcinoma equivalents which provide models to study the functional and molecular consequences of gd T cells in this context. Taken together, the established models will help to deepen the understanding of gd T cells in the skin and explore their therapeutic potential in skin cancer.
