For each departmental officer, these volumes record details of leave granted with registered numbers of related correspondence, total number of days accruing per annum, transfers to or from other departments and details of leave while employed in other departments prior to transfer to Mines and resignation and retirement. They also contain copies of decisions received from the Public Service Board concerning leave for special cases, conferences, temporary employees leave during pneumonic influenza epidemic 1918-19, as well as listing officers on active military service receiving special leave.
