Wide-field calcium imaging of distributed cortical activation elicited by electrical stimulation of Deep Cerebellar Nuclei

In this study we evaluated the effective connectivity between Deep Cerebellar Nuclei (DCN) and cerebral cortex over one hemisphere. To this aim, we performed electrical stimulation of Dentate nucleus simultaneously with wide-field imaging of distributed calcium activity over the contralateral cortical hemisphere. To visualize neuronal activity, we used a transgenic mouse line (Thy1-GCaMP6f) that expresses the fluorescent indicator GCaMP6f in a subset of excitatory neurons.
