A chromosome-scale genome assembly of Stachys geobombycis

Stachys geobombycis C. Y. Wu is a medicinal and edible species of the Lamiaceae distributed in southern China. We integrated ultra-long Oxford Nanopore Technologies reads, Pore-C chromatin conformation data, and short-read genome survey data to generate a chromosome-scale genome assembly. The final assembly spans 881,847,224 bp (881.85 Mb), has a GC content of 37.77%, and comprises 17 pseudochromosomes with one remaining gap. Assembly completeness was assessed using BUSCO v5.6.1 with the embryophyta_odb10 dataset, recovering 97.7% complete BUSCOs. The accompanying annotation contains 21,556 protein-coding genes. This dataset provides a genomic resource for research on S. geobombycis and comparative studies within the Lamiaceae.
