资源简介:
Large language models can produce fluent synthesis whose sources cannot be inspected, accelerating familiar pathologies in economic history: compression of argument, abstraction of context, and dissolution of disagreement into plausible narrative. I present Retrieval-Restricted Reasoning (RRR), a proof-of-concept architecture that treats citation integrity as a mechanical constraint. The system restricts generation to a researcher-curated corpus, requires every reference to resolve to a verifiable page-level location, and refuses to generate when validated evidence falls below configurable thresholds. Tested on a 50-document corpus in the institutions-and-growth debate, the architecture sustains zero citation fabrication across 100 runs, with near-zero location errors diagnosable in the logs. Removing the constraints returns fabrication to levels that make checking impossible.<br>
