This study aimed to construct a single-cell atlas to investigate the underlying mechanisms of ovarian changes in Kazakh horses. Results: We performed the first single-cell transcriptomic analysis of 112,861 ovarian cells derived from non-follicular and follicular ovaries in Kazakh horses, identifying nine distinct ovarian cell types with characteristic gene expression profiles and their associated subtypes.
